One of the greatest, most versatile world-famous artists of the 20th century was Marc Chagall (1887-1985). He created a fairy-tale fantasy world of childhood images, his intention not being to show a realistic representation of visible reality. People, animals and objects in his works had particular symbolic meaning. They are dreamlike, making us dream at the same time.

The exhibition opening in April in Pécs presents 40 lithographies of biblical theme, 43 lithographies related to Homer'sOdyssey and also sketches to the renovation of the Opera House ceiling in Paris (1964) (15 lithographies) in addition to 12 lithographies showing window illustrations of the Hadassah University Hospital Synagogue in Jerusalem.
