The Berettyóújfalu and Regional Beekeepers' Society began in 1993. After the suggestion of Gyula Fábián, they founded the Bihar Order of the Honey in 2009. To be able to finance their programmes, the society filed for support from the Local County Development Strategies LEADER Group. The application was successful, the project, which was the first programme of the Bihar Order of the Honey, was held in 2012, on Museums' Night at the Bihar Museum. The programs were all about honey, and we also held our first exhibition then. The objective of both the society and the project is to inform the public on the values of honey, and the traditions of beekeeping in Bihar.

The exhibition is about tools and equipment used by beekeepers, we collected in Bihar, in addition to various books and other publications. Several of them are really old, up to a few hundred years old. Through the photo boards and tools, the visitors may learn about the history of beekeeping, the ecological role of bees, the most important flowers of which honey is gained and tools used during working with wax. The visitors may even touch bars of beeswax, or candles beekeepers make even these days. The visitors will also find pollen and propolis in the showcases. In other showcases, there are products from the first Bihar Honey Plant, and remedial honey products under the brand name More Than Honey.

The visitors will find information on the history of beekeeping in Bihar, together with the uniform of the Bihar Order of the Honey, their flag, the chain the grand master usually wears and the founding documents.

For groups, we offer lectures, museum pedagogical classes. Prior notice is required. Classes cost 100 Ft per person.
