Where are, where have heroes gone? Those heroes we knew so well from 19th century novels, those who survived hard times in Romantic books, and even more so, triumphed, where are they? They may be the soldiers who were sang about in the song by Pete Seeger in 1960, and some who ended up in heroes' cemeteries. Today, we don't even use the word 'hero' when discussing literary works, we rather talk about characters. What the song by 'Európa Kiadó' suggests, namely that there are still heroes in the movies, seems to be interesting exactly for that. The reason may be because there is a precondition to the existence of heroes and that is a traditional story. Where we find these stories is not really in novels but in movies.
